John Write is the main protagonist in > Dormitabis Remastered, controlled by the player. He is the younger brother of Peter Write and the son of Alex Write and Julie Write. He is also heavily implied to be the protagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's 3 shown as a green man in a security uniform in the Cardboard Theatre.

Appearance[]

In the remaster, John is seen as a skinned child with blue eyes and dark brown hair, wearing a black shirt with grey stripes, blue pants, and dark brown shoes.

Later on in 2008, John is seen as a green figure with white eyes and a security guard uniform, which includes a black security cap with a white label. With his uniform is a tie, pants, shoulder epaulettes and shoes, all in black color. His shirt has two pockets on his chest and a golden badge pinned on the left side.

Personality[]

When he was young, John was a nervous, skittish kid, easily intimidated by anything that was bigger than him. He ends up crying a lot leading to him getting bullied by other kids. Otherwise, his paranoia only stops at big robots as he is a bit unaware of the wants of other people, as shown with him giving a toy to Garvey for his birthday.

As an adult, Garvey described him to be "having monotony", referring to him having complete disinterest in his life. This is also supported by his choice of leaving his last remaining family members just to take down Garvey. The only hint of emotion he was shown to have felt was panic when attempting to escape from Garvey. He's not really talkative as he barely interacts with Garvey and Peter in the purgatory.

He is no longer the crying child he was before, spending twelve whole nights death-staring grotesque, vengeful beings to survive.

History[]

John was born on November 14th, 1971. His family included his older brother Peter, who was born sixteen years before him, and his parents, Alex and Julie.

During 1979, Alex opened a new pizzeria named Cakebear's Pizza Palace which stars a animatronic mascot named Cakebear. The restaurant was successful, however the electricity used to power all the lights and Cakebear was too expensive leading to arguments between Alex and Julie. Alex eventually murders Julie in a fit of rage in one of their arguments and was later convicted for it. He was released before 1982.

On 1982, Fredbear's Family Diner was opened and Garvey was adopted by the family. On September 26th, they all (except for Julie because she's dead) gave gifts to Garvey for his birthday. John gave a Fredbear plush to him which Garvey noted to be an item younger people like him would have wanted, but was thankful for the gift nonetheless.

During the opening of Fredbear's, John was having trepidation troubles as the animatronics that inhabit the restaurant all scared him to the point of tears. Other older children, including a kid named Jack tends to bully him for his fears and only fuel it by scaring him even more.

November 11th, 1983 is when his 12th birthday arrives. His birthday party was to take place in Fredbear's Family Diner since all his family members worked there, much to his displeasure. During the party, Jack and his friends, Ted, Maria, and Jake all ganged up on John and forced his head towards Fredbear's mouth. This ended up causing an accident known as The Bite of '83 as Fredbear's mouth crushed John's head. John was hospitalized from his injuries. Garvey witnessed the event and furiously killed Ted, Jack and Jake in the back rooms to avenge his brother. Alex was convicted again for health and safety violations along with the missing children.

It was unknown how long John was hospitalized but he later ended up marrying and having a kid of his own. Alex also eventually got released from his sentence and John chose to live with him in the old home, most likely looking after him after all those events. During 1993, Peter and Garvey goes missing.

John eventually picked up a night security job at the brand new Fazbear's Fright attraction. While working there he suffered hallucinations of memories from past attractions, and eventually met Garvey again. This time he was no longer a human but a murderous, rotting human stuck inside of a withered Spring Bonnie suit, named Springtrap.

Afterwards, John Write died, caused by the fire at Fazbear's Fright in an attempt to kill Garvey. They both ended up in purgatory, a spiritual place controlled by Molten Evil where many victims of the previous Freddy's establishments reside. He becomes the main reason the animatronics attack, due to his plasma being pure and uncorrupted. This is due to the fact that Havoc Puppet failed to give the dead kids proper physical forms when taking Molten Evil's plasma, which got corrupted into a black burning plasma substance by it's host, turning them into abominations known as "Havocs". Since John is nothing more then a soul, he and Peter are a great source of plasma which is why Peter is hiding. It is later revealed that they want to be free and that Molten Evil is slowly gaining more control over their physical forms. As he endures the twelve nights and collects the various tapes, he eventually frees himself at the cost of his own heart and the animatronics trapped with him.

Scrapped Content[]

"The keys? The spare keys were a fucking lie."
The information below involves content that were either scrapped or not fully developed into the game.
Canonicity of it is not fully defined and is not to be taken with certainty.

In the remaster, there was a true ending which entailed various objectives and altered the spacebar minigame in Night 10. This entailed: grabbing mementos of the dead children, finding two keys on Nightmare (CAM 05 & CAM 02), it also included a confrontation with Sorrow Spring (a sad music box melody would play during the confrontation) before Night 12 begins. After successfully beating Night 12, there would be an 8-bit minigame of FNaF 3 where all the kids are sitting at various tables with the end of the room having the original five kids. Tom, Jake, Jack, Ted and Maria would all be waiting for John to give him his happiest day, as they have one last party together. After it all, only Puppet, Cakebear, Molten Evil, Springlich and The B.O.A remain. Turns out that the children inside of The B.O.A haven't been freed yet and so Tom asks John for a favor instead of letting him be free with the others. The alteration for Night 10 would be that winning the spacebar quick event would have John break free and either escape or attack Garvey with an object to put him down for good. Thus, making the bad ending optional.

Voice lines of John Write in correlation to this scrapped content were recorded by IIDEPII, but were also scrapped in the end. The lines involved John's reaction to each tape collected, a line relating to Glitchfreak, John attempting to escape after beating Night 10, John spawning in purgatory and Cakebear's Pizza Palace, and lines with John fighting Garvey.

Trivia[]

  • While never directly stated in-game, John Write passed at around the age of 37.
    • In the remaster, the grave shows that John was born on 1971, and died in 2008, meaning the remaster changed Fazbear's Fright's opening to a much earlier date, and John is younger compared to his original counterpart.
  • In the remaster, John is the Bite Victim.
    • This is also why Garvey started killing in the remaster.
  • John gifted Garvey a Fredbear plush, presumably the same plush from Five Nights at Freddy's 4.
  • John's birthday is on November 14th according to Garvey's tapes.
    • John and Garvey are the only two characters with a confirmed birthday with a full date.
  • Unlike the character he's based on he has no relation to the Foxy Bully (Jack) or any of the other bullies.
